Vizag: Government and Private failed to fulfil the needs of the passengers during the festival season. Trains were rushy and railway station was crowdy with the passengers. Indian Railway authorities not all considered this rush.
Though couple of trains run between Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, Bangalore, no intimation is available with the railway authorities. Godavari express, Visakha express, Coromandel, Janmabhumi, Ratnachal etc expresses were very crowdy for the past two days. Railway authorities opened many counters to issue general tickets and current reservation.
The passengers were forced to buy the waitlisted tickets or else they had to leave the counters without getting the reservations. Much rush was also witnessed inside the passenger waiting halls of the station.
Advance tickets were issued two days in advance and few trains had waiting list in hundred figure. Tatakal tickets were closed within minutes after the releasing the quota by 8 am. Railway platforms were seems to be an ocean.
A long passenger queue was witnessed at the ticket booking windows, both at Visakhapatnam main Entrance and Gnanapuram counters of railway station.
Keeping on the festival rush, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation presented double dhamaka to its passengers. The regular ticket charges were almost doubled in few services to distant ones. Reservation services also closed to certain locations.
RTC could not provided number of services to Srikakulam, Vizianagaram districts. There was no exception to season ticket holders. Some of the buses were restricted the season tickets holders.
Game by Private Transporters
Failure of Railway services and RTC services, Private transporters took the advantage to implement a predesigned game with the passengers. All of a sudden these services hike the ticket services to Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Deputed number of services (beyond their licence) in late night hours to distant locations.
