Vizag: Dr. Yuvaraj, vice-chairman, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) said that a a zonal office soon be set up at Srikakulam.
Announcing this on Wednesday, he said online services will also be introduced to reduce delay and travel all the way to the head office at Visakhapatnam. Since wide area in Srikakulam district has been included in the jurisdiction of VUDA, priority would be given for improving services through the zonal office, he added.
He warned of stringent action against unauthorised layouts and constructions violating rules. Inspecting the premises of the zonal office at Srikakulam, the vice-chairman directed chief urban planner Ms. RJ Vidyullatha and chief engineer Mr. I Viswanatha Rao to complete installation of facilities and deputation of staff to open the office shortly.
VUDA has taken up town development works worth Rs 25 crore in Srikakulam among which formation of roads occupy big share. It also considered the proposal of renovating the Kodi Ramamurthy Sports Stadium and an estimation of Rs 12.5 crore has been prepared for taking up the works on 50:50 basis by VUDA and Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh.
