Vizag: The first convocation of Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) University held on Saturday. The school turned varsity has vast experience in academic service and had seen number of milestones in its pocket.
On this occasion, the chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Dr. K. Radhakrishnan was honoured with Doctor of Science, and - Doctor of letters to K. Sivananda Murthy (founder Anandavanam - Bheemili), V S Bakshi - (Pakasasthra Praveena - International chef) and MK Raju.
501 scholars given degrees
GITAM chairman Dr. MVVS Murty gave away the degrees to 501 scholars of his school. Out of which 108 are MBAs and International Business, 155 are Master of Sciences, 44 are MCA and 207 are MTechs. Six students adjudged as best and honored with gold medals.
Best research awards
Research Scholars of Science and Engineering disciplines received best research awards. N. Srinivas of Bio-remidiation and Pytoremidiation works, M. Sarat Chandrababu of Chemistry (Nano Technology wing), Dr. KV Ramesh of Engineering Physics are among them.
